ASANA – ACCORDING TO SAGE PATANJALI - YOGI360

Patanjali describes asana as not just bodily posture which integrates mind and physical body steadiness with a pleasant feeling when it is performed. They recommend that asana means to make mind to sit where body is.

The basic science of yoga asana is to equip a person for meditation.

Most of us are busy in our lives in which everything happens because of a concentrated effort to “make it happen!”

We must do something if anything is to happen. Perfecting posture comes from Constant practice. Surely we have to put some effort into training the body to sit straight and be aligned. This conscious effort to release any form of effort can be felt experientially, internally. You can know for yourself that this really is a valid, useful, and key principle in developing a sitting posture for meditation.

The yoga sutras formed by the Patanjali offers a simple rule for asana. Here we will go through the following Patanjali Sutras, in detail in order to understand the asana according to Patanjali.
